Winners at the 2011 Beyblade Asian Championship

Over the decades, there have been both regional and world championship Beyblade tournaments held usually by either Takara Tomy or Hasbro. One such regional tournament was the 2011 Beyblade Asian Championship which took place in Kyoto, Japan and held host to bladers from ten different Asian countries. The competitions were split into "Junior Class" and "Regular Class," with seven-year-old Yuya Kitadokoro of Japan winning the “Junior Class” and ten-year-old Juan Edbert of Indonesia winning the “Regular Class.” Events like these, according to Takara Tomy, show Beyblade's use as a "communication toy" which creates "bonds of family fun and friendship not only within Japan, but on an international level” (2011).
